The Bad blow The Bad blow

Rated 5 / 5 stars

Hey, you're getting pretty good at this. I really like what you did with the colors here, particularly on the faces of the two guys. The faces and bodies themselves are also very nicely done; their shapes and quirks ooze with personality and do a great job of differentiating the characters. And I enjoy the general bizarreness that is so characteristic of your style.

Your hand-crafted work is swell; keep it up!

That is wicked cool; the amount of detail in each ring of the lineart is nuts, and I like how each ring pattern is different. The waviness of the whole thing almost makes it seem like it's moving and flowing.

I find the Cape Breton background to be somewhat distracting from the lineart, and don't really like how it obscures some of the fine details of the ring patterns, but I do like some of the color variation it adds... I just feel like it's too prominent. It looks like you modified the colors of the background image and then laid the partially-transparent lineart over it; I think I would prefer to see the lineart remaining opaque with some sort of color effect applied to it, such as combining the lineart's colors with the colors of another image through addition, subtraction, etc. But that's just me.

Everything is very nice-looking nonetheless; great work!

Personally I don't mind the tree blocking out the patterns on that one part of the image, as you can still see the details of those particular patterns somewhere else on the image. But I do see what you mean by it being too prominent. It is however, what I chose after tweaking it multiple times from either being too subtle or too prominent.

Thank you for the feedback and the generous scoring. I very much appreciate it.

I feel ya, little guy!

What a great drawing. The little guyâEUTMs facial expression is very evocative, and I love the way you shaded himâEU¦ or is it a she? We may never knowâEU¦

I also love the more subtle details, particularly those involving the eyes: The little lines (veins?) on them and the tear-like smudges around them add a lot to the message youâEUTMre conveying in this piece.

Excellent work!!

Great review! Thank you.
It is a he, I think, atleast, it was a message coming from me, about some people who made me feel bad one night, indirectly.
Not sure if they're veins, it wasn't intentional veins, so just darkness really.
Was a rough night! I've stopped doing things like this :{

Cheers again.

This idea needs to be developed into a video game!

Seriously, the concept has some real potential. Just think of the all the gameplay ideas that could stem from it! The guy pictured could be the game's protagonist, and players could use a phallic controller that looks just like his cock to make him shoot bullets, bombs (which would presumably serve as his "testicles"), and all sorts of other artillery!

I really like the idea of this guy being the main character; his split-open head and crazy-looking facial expression both scream: "I'm insane, and I'm comin' to get ya!!" I'm confused about what that black splotch on his chest is, though... body paint, perhaps?

What this drawing needs is a proper background, neater coloring and shading, and more consistent outlines. With those improvements, this could easily be the splash and/or title screen of a video game with the aforementioned gameplay mechanics.

Not bad, Mr. Boss!

I don't know.

For some strange reason, this made me laugh like a hyena. The comment you left below the image completed it for me.

I can't say I've ever laughed so hard at something so simple, and I now feel obligated to give you a ten-star review for this piece.

Ah, yes!

I love the movie, and I love this artwork! You did a fantastic job of capturing The Dude's personality; the drawing and coloring style is crude, messy and unkempt, just like him. And yet, you managed to make everything look neat enough to form a great-looking image.

I think the facial expression is perfect; it effectively conveys his general attitude of "I don't give a fuck." That, along with the White Russian and his trademark sunglasses, makes for a beautiful depiction of a revered character. Although you could've also included a joint in his mouth. :P

A more interesting background might've been nice, but I don't feel the one you used detracts from the work in any way. All in all, this is an excellent tribute to an excellent movie.

I wouldn't mind seeing how you draw Walter. ;)

That's awfully cute. :3

Not only cute, but very well done, too. I'm extremely impressed with how consistently you maintained the character's anatomy and size over such a wide variety of poses. That lettering is pretty nifty as well.

Even though this piece lacks color and a background, that doesn't bother me at all, as those elements aren't really necessary for a work of this nature. As far as I'm concerned, it's got the vibe of real professionalism. Fantastic job; I love it! :3

Oh wow...

Quite an interesting take on Metal Slug you have here, and a very well-drawn one. I especially love the way you did the shading and highlights. And the sweat drops and piss steam make the picture feel very... juicy...

Well, that's about all I've got to say... aside from the fact that I had no idea there was a Metal Slug XXX in development! Gonna have to pick that up as soon as it's released... :3

I suppose this piece is intended to be a social commentary of some sort, although I'm not quite sure what point (if any) you're trying to get across with it. Regardless, it looks amazing; all the gore on the breast is particularly eye-grabbing.

I love the way you use everyday items to create awesomely weird art; keep it up! What exactly did you use in this project? The gore looks a lot like pizza cheese and sauce. :P

Hell yeah!

I'm loving those letters! Excellent job on the design, shading, highlights, perspective and whatnot; they all look amazing! Love those scribbles and paint drips too!

The textures used for the sidewalk and street seem a bit cheap and out of place, though. It would be nicer to see those surfaces drawn by hand, but they're decent as is. The brick texture looks great, although I'm not sure why you drew additional lines over it; seems to me that it would've looked fine without them.

Also, I think the sidewalk cracks should be shifted to the right in order to maintain proper perspective, but then again, maybe you wanted them to line up with the Tankman. Doesn't matter though; they still look nice!

Good luck in the competition!
